I am visiting Sydney in Feb 2019 and was curious what would be one or two great courses to play in the region. I am a member of a private club in the United states so I am not sure if that helps or is not applicable...some countries it makes a big difference.

Update everyone,

Some time last week I was minding my own business until I received an email from the Scotty Cameron custom shop, notifying me that my putter has been shipped and was on my way back to me. My excitement levels went though the roof! I wasn’t expecting it this soon as I was advised it’ll take roughly 10-12 weeks to complete. It only took 6 weeks to complete it when they received it!

I just received it and it was nothing less than a ‘WOW’ experience and you couldn’t get the smile off my face. From the initial lifting of the box to the see the Scotty Cameron/Titleist logo and seeing your prized possession there all pimped up, was too good. I love it!

The putter turned out awesome, from the black Matt finish to the paint work, it’s flawless. If anyone is on the fence about doing it, I would highly recommend it to someone who wants to keep their putter forever and make it your own.

Scotty Cameron Custom Shop

Hi everyone,

Was hoping to have a discussion around this topic if possible. I've had my trusty Scotty Cameron Futura X7M Dual Balance putter for about 3 years now and I absolutely love it! I have no intentions of ever getting rid of it but I noticed it was getting some very light rust on the side. It's taken me a while to decide to do this but I have decided to send my putter off for a restoration, and want to make it a bit more personable.

It's gonna take around 3 months to get it back to me, but the service so far has been great from the custom shop.

Has anyone ever sent their Scotty to the custom shop and if so, what was the experience like? Do you regret doing it or was it the best decision?

Hey Roy,

This wasn’t cheap at all, especially as we have to convert to USD, shipping etc. but the total price start to finish with shipping, too and from there is costing around $700 AUD.
I had to think long and hard to get it done and due to the fact I know I won’t change this putter, I decided to get it all done. But from what I’ve seen and read, it’s something that everyone doesn’t regret doing so I can’t wait to get it back.

What are you liking at getting done Roy?

That’s awesome Craig! Glad to hear you’ve had a good experience with them and that you’re looking at sending another putter to get done. I lust admit, when I communicate with the custom shop, they’re very quick with a reply and very helpful.
If this experience goes well and I’m happy with the work, I’ll consider sending my second putter to get redone in the future.

Looks good! I sent my Newport 2 in this spring, but did not get it black finish. I am thinking about sending in a new Newport 2 in the future to get that finish. They do a great job in the custom shop!

Thanks for the reply Chris,

As I am in Australia, its literally costing a fortune to send it there, get restored and sent back. (Given the cost of delivery and exchange rates etc.). But I decided to do it anyways as I plan to keep this putter for life.

I have and did, opted for the black paint finish as I feel that not only does it looks stunning in that colour, but at address before putting, everything would really stand out and I wont have that glare sometimes from the putter head when the sun is beaming right on top (which I found to be annoying a few times.)

I decided to have the black finish, with the translucent blue and white look. I think it just pops and will stand out on the green.

I have attached what the putter will look like once completed.

I have sent countless putters over the last decade to the custom shop and I can positively say they do an amazing job in my experience. If you are going to have it restored have you considered having it repainted black?

Hi Chris,
I live in Melbourne not Sydney so I am far from an expert on Sydney’s courses. I do know though that there are some hidden gems outside of The Lakes, The Australian & New South Wales. I recommend taking a look at St Michaels or Avondale.
I am especially fond of Avondale because I had the chance to play 100 holes in a day there with the Adam Scott Foundation. Adam actually joined me for a few holes on the day, an experience I’ll never forget. I found the course to be challenging without being intimidating and was in immaculate condition.

I played at Pymble Golf Cub in Sydney. It is a private club that will most certainly test your game. The other course I played was East Lakes course near the Sydney Airport. A number of years back they held the Australian Open there I believe it was around 2009. A very good course greens were lightning quick.

Both courses are a great test of your game.

Hi Titelist - I'd like to offer some feedback
I had an issue with one of your stadry stand bags, strap kept coming loose
Got in touch with Titleist via the Sales email and was told to return it to the store which is fair enough. But the issue was not something that could be rectified by simply getting a new bag it was the actual design of the strap system that was at fault so I replied and requested a different strap, one similar to an old Titleist stand bag I have that I've never had any issues with. I have not heard back from 4 subsequent emails I back to Sales in following up on my request. In the end, the store owner and I worked out our own modification to fix the problem.
Got to say as someone with about $4k worth of Titelist gear, I'm disappointed in the Titleist response
