Titleist MB's

Are the edges on the MB's sharper and more suited for a "digger?" In other words, do the MB's travel through the ground easier while making divots? I've heard a lot of different things, and this is one of them, but I'm not sure if I believe it.

The leading edge on the MB's is ground slightly so that they don't overly dig as well for better turf interaction. I'm sure one of the trusty Team Titleist guy's can validate this as well :)

The more recent MBs actually have a slightly cambered sole. It's one of my favorite features of the design...

TS2 Driver

Finally got my TS2 driver today and will take it to the range tomorrow. I have the Tensei AV 55 in regular flex in it right now but if it doesn't work out my dealer has several more I can try. I have the Tensei shaft in my AP3 irons and love them so I'm hoping it will work in the driver too.

In every previous Titleist titanium driver (983K, 905R, 913D3, 917D3) I've been at 9.5 degrees.

In the TS2, though, I'm 8.5.

Only took twenty minutes to get me at 13 degree launch angle and 2200 rpm.

Amazing how good the stock options are.

Dave, based on your fitting, did you order the TS2 in the same specs/setup as your 915D?

Old 6010 lob wedge

I have an old 60 degrees 6010 lob wedge that I absolutely love, but it is so old now. I tried out the new vokey S7 lob wedges, but compared to my 6010 they feel a lot more heavy. Is there a model that is closer to my 6010 for feel and weight?

Shafts vs weights

Hi, Looking for help / advice. I’ve recently been fitted for 2 x 917 F2s and 2 x 818 H1s. They currently have Mitsubishi Tensei Pro Red AMC Senior / Lite shafts in and 12g Surefit weights. I have a relatively slow swing speed (60 mph I think) and have changed my AP3 irons to Ladies shafts as a result. I am thinking of doing the same for the woods and hybrids, but wondered whether that would also mean I should also have lighter weights in the heads? Thank you in advance, Katherine

Hi Matthew and thank you so much for replying. I was thinking I would also have them reduced in length by an inch. My feeling is that I need a softer shaft for getting better launch and “feel”; and a shorter shaft for “manageability”. Would I need to change weights if I did that do you think?

I had a 917D2 (just traded it in about to purchase a TS2). I have a 915D2 that is my backup driver. I ordered the 917D2 with hopes of replacing the 915 but I never felt comfortable with the 917...the club just didn't sit the same as the 915. I was thinking it was just me but after seeing your post I agree with you that it feels (and looks) like it sat closed compared to the 915D2.

MB/cavity back vs AP2

Hi guys Just wondering if any one has done this. I have had all the AP2 series and love each and every release. When the 718 series came, I wanted to try some thing different. So what I did was get the pitching wedge and 9 iron in the MB and 8 through 6 in cavity back. I ordered through Titleist with project X 6.0 shafts , then had the lie adjusted (2 up). I use a 818 H2 23 degrees and a strong 828 H2 17 degree Titleist hybrid. So the reason for this post and wondering if others did this? I dropped 4.5 strokes this season of my GHIN. ( now a16) I know, not that good. I am 57 years old with a lower back fusion with rods. I work very hard on my game and very competitive. But the one thing I noticed getting this combo set, I have a ton of confidence looking down at the ball. I feel I focus more, and when miss hit I know immediately then correct on next shot. I know it's may sound goofy to get clubs like that with my handicap. But I am so glad I took a chance. Has any one else done this ?

I play 718CB in 4-6 and 718MB in 7-9 and have played the split set for about 10 years.... I love that setup!!!
BTW...my wedges are Vokey SM6 (46-50-54-58)

Basically, driver to driver, fairway to fairway, and hybrid to hybrid.

The only exception is the 910 models. Driver/fairway/hybrid all use the same driver adapter, so the 910 fairway/hybrids are not interchangeable, really, with anything.

The 816/818 adapters are in 1 degree increments, and the 913/915 hybrids are 0.75 degree increments for loft adjustments. They interchangeable, but you get the loft adjustments of the shaft. So a 915 shaft on an 818 will still be 0.75 degree loft adjustments.

I got fit a few weeks ago for the new TS woods and ended-up ordering a TS3 driver and TS2 fairway, both with the ProjectX HZRDUS Smoke shaft. I’ve been able to play a few rounds with the clubs since I received them, and I am really enjoying them. Titleist did great with the look, sound and feel in these clubs. I picked-up some pretty good yardage and am hitting them much higher than my previous 915 driver and fairway. Thank you Titleist!

TS3 Weights

Has anyone received heavier weights than stock for your TS3? I ordered weights through a local dealer as instructed and was told they won't be available until potentially the middle of next month!?!? Really was hoping to have this club dialed in for some upcoming tournaments however extremely disappointed the options aren't available. I attempted to use the sticky weights however they make it about 7 swings before coming off.

Some orders have come in with the heavier weights but, haven't tried ordering a weight separate yet. Go find some lead tape at a local shop, that will stay on until the weights come.

TS3 weight at shorter length

Can someone tell me, if I have my TS3 at 44.75", .75" shorter than stock, what weight should it come with to get it back or close to stock SW? I was told by the shop I ordered from that Titleist does their best to match it up even without specifying but something doesn't feel right... feels a little light if anything. Thanks for any help.

I would get this club to a shop and weigh it before assuming you need so much weight(9 grams) to offset. Mine is cut down 1 inch and playing at 44.5 inches and I need 3 grams to get it back to D2(My Preferred SW). The weight of the shaft, where the weight is in the shaft, the weight of your grip, all play into the actual swing weight. If you are indeed in Long Beach the RD in Seal Beach has a scale available to check it.

716 AP1 vs 718 AP3

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I am currently a 20 handicap and having been playing for a little less than a year. I recently got fitted for new irons, as this is the weakest part of my game. Interestingly enough my fitting came to the 716 Ap1 and the 718 Ap3. My fitter is leaving the decision up to me. I hit the Ap1 more consistently than the 718 Ap3, but not by much. Both clubs feel good. My biggest dilemma right now is picking which set to go with. I am more consistent with the 716s, but i think the 718s will be better for me long term. Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.
