TT members I know the season is starting to close out in the Northern states and Southwestern Ontario. I am looking for info and areas in Michigan that would be still open to play.Have heard a lot of good things about the tracks in Michigan Thanks

Most tracks will stay open if the weather is decent. My wife and I played at LochenHeath in Traverse City last year around this time and had the course to ourselves. They did have snow last week up there so I assume most of the resort courses are closed. Most of the courses around Detroit and Lansing will be open for another couple of weeks.

I'm two hours north of Pittsburgh in Erie, PA - but definitely may be up for a trip 'south' in 2019! I'm there for work periodically, so let's make it work!

Yes, I have been up there every winter for the past 5 years. We head up there the day after Thanksgiving for the 6th trip. I usually play at least 3 of the 4 courses. All are great. Pacific can be a little tricky the first time if you don’t have a caddie or someone who has played the course a few times. You will love them both. Get back and play the other two in the future.

Bandon Dunes 2019

I just booked a two day golf outing at Bandon Dunes next march. I will be playing Pacific Dunes and Old Macdonald...has anyone played either? Thoughts? Halfway houses? I have done a lot of ‘bucket list’ courses but I am excited about this one...

Myrtle Beach & Sands Hills

I’m headed to Myrtle Beach for a golf trip next week and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations or hook ups?

Also, I came across Sands Hill in Nebraska and urge everyone not familiar to check out the course and a few others in the area. This is a new add to my bucket list and hopefully will get an opportunity to play it next year.

If it's not to late I have a couple of suggestions. Was just in MB last weekend and played Glen Dornoch and Tidewater. Both excellent courses but a little pricey. Luckily my boss has a condo and had the Myrtle Beach Golf Passport for locals. Saved us a bunch of money. Barefoot, Pine Lakes, Dunes Club are all great also. Myrtlewood, Eagle Nest, Farmstead and Beachwood are a little cheaper but good also. You can go to myrtlebeachgolf.com, they usually have some good prices. So what i guess I'm saying is that there's a lot of good courses (around 80 I think). Just depends on your price range.

My wife and I live in Vermont and we have some great courses here, but we also love to travel and play golf together and I've been lucky enough to check some great courses off my bucket list.

We're talking about where to go next, and while I'd obviously love to play Pine Valley or Augusta, trying to keep it real in terms of what I can really get access to. Here are the ones I've hit....would love recommendations on where we should consider next. We typically don't make these "golf only" trips....it's nice to combine some golf/beach/spa...

Appreciate any suggestions for us!

There are 4 courses in North Myrtle Beach as part of the Barefoot Resort. There's a Dye/LoveIII/Norman/Fazio course. The Dye is by far my favorite of the 4, but the Fazio course is great too !!

I would definitely try to get on any of the courses at the Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach. There's a Greg Norman, DL3, Fazio, and a Dye course. The Norman/Love/Fazio courses are out of the same clubhouse, the Dye course is about a mile away and is my favorite of the group! The Fazio would be my 2nd favorite and a tossup between Norman and Love.

Outer Banks, NC

I guess with the cold weather setting in, I've been thinking about the beach a lot more. We do a family trip every year to the Outer Banks and do a good bit of golfing while there. I was curious to see if any of you golf there, and if so, what are your favorite courses?

Here are mine in no particular order:

Nags Head Golf Links Kilmarlic Duck Woods CC The Carolina Club The Currituck Club

We've played Sea Scape and The Pointe, but prefer the above listed.

Are there any other courses you would recommend trying?

I'm heading to Dewey Beach for a couple days next week. I'm looking at Bayside to play. I've never been there and was hoping some of you could share your thoughts or even recommend other courses to play if you're familiar with the area.

Would highly recommend taking a trip up to Cape Briton, Nova Scotia and play Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs. Awesome courses and unforgettable views. Spent the morning at Kiawah Island, The Ocean Course. Was there working at the Ronald McDonald Charity Golf event. Mentioned to Steve the head pro the TT Invitational and they are really excited about TT coming. Spoke with the planner and she said it sold out immediately and that the waiting list is pretty long. Took some pictures from inside and outside the clubhouse so you can get an idea of what you are in for, for those who have not been there. The rain passed and they got their tournament in. Picked up a nice old school pom pom headcover for my hybrid to match my Titleist midsize tour bag.

Pga at Beth Page

A group of us are going to Long Island for the PGA this spring at Beth Page State park. Has anyone been to a former PGA event here that can give some advice on we're to stay and or how to communicate from the course to the hotel? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!

Give Bethpage Black a go, super tough layout but fun. Especially now that the 2019 PGA Championship will be there / 2024 Ryder Cup. TPC Sawgrass is pretty straightforward...downside is really expensive green fees. Pebble is definitely a must, then go have lunch or dinner at The Bench. A hidden gem, go play Streamsong red, black or blue...awesome property. Torrey Pines is also pretty straightforward, awesome course nonetheless. Hope this helps!
